The Southern Charm midseason trailer is finally here and it’s dropping some bombshell details about Craig Conover and Paige DeSorbo‘s breakup.
Conover is left puzzled at the enigmatic statement from his then-girlfriend at the end of the teaser. She implies that it will be the last time he sees her, leaving him in uncertainty.
Conover shares his intention to propose to DeSorbo, whom he had been in a three-year relationship with before their separation over the Thanksgiving holiday. The cameras captured a conversation between Conover, Shep Rose, and Austen Kroll discussing their breakup.
He confesses to his friends that she had requested a ring from him, which he had purchased. The breakup took him by surprise, making it challenging for him to come to terms with the fact that she is still physically present but emotionally distant.
DeSorbo announced their breakup on the Dec. 30 episode of her and Hannah Berner‘s Giggly Squad podcast, telling listeners that she and Conover had a “really mature” conversation about what they each wanted for their futures before deciding to part ways.
While DeSorbo expressed hopes that they would “remain friends,” things seem to have taken a messy turn in light of rumors claiming she cheated on Conover with her alleged new beau Joe D’Amelio.
The fashionista took to her podcast earlier this week to shut down the rumors, revealing that she and Conover had been broken up since Thanksgiving, even though Conover did Southern Charm press in December “acting as if [they] were still together.”
DeSorbo said she asked him to shut down the cheating rumors, but he allegedly said he didn’t want to talk about the breakup publicly.
“The narrative just took a turn really quickly. That I had cheated, that I broke up with him, like, a week ago and moved on with some new guy,” she said. “Let me say this here and now. I did not move on with some new guy. I’m single. I don’t have a new boyfriend. I did not cheat on my ex-boyfriend. And it was a full month that we were broken up and I didn’t say anything.”
Elsewhere in the Southern Charm midseason trailer, Taylor Ann Green confronts Kroll, Molly O’Connell seemingly makes a move on Rose, and Conover gets into it with JT Thomas.
Southern Charm airs Thursday nights at 8/7c on Bravo. New episodes are available to stream the next day on Peacock.
