The Fun POTUS Is Back: Trump Makes New, Impromptu Quips on Prince Harry, Super Bowl Sunday

During the last four years, there was a noticeable absence as we endured a White House that frequently evaded interactions with both the Fourth Estate and the American public, often neglecting to clarify their responsibilities, except when they were preoccupied with concealing President Joe Biden’s rapidly declining abilities.

Regarding President Biden, it’s important to remember that he progressively became more antagonistic towards the press corps as time passed, occasionally reacting sharply to reporters inquiring about current policies or political decisions made by his administration.

It is essential to recall that the former president, Donald Trump, dedicated much of his time during this period defending against or entangled in legal battles instigated by his adversaries on the political left—with the implicit support of the Biden administration.

Neither of the above exactly fosters an ideal atmosphere for someone to share lighthearted quips about the wider world surrounding us in the culture.

Although, we started to see some glimpses from Trump toward the end of the 2024 presidential election cycle; who can get tired of this?

Now, with the return of Trump to the Oval Office just about two weeks ago, things are slowly changing back. Two new, impromptu opinions showed up on Friday; first, he riffed on UK’s Prince Harry and his unpopular American wife, Meghan Markle, during an interview with the New York Post.

Harry’s immigration status is the subject of litigation in Washington DC, with the Heritage Foundation alleging that he may have concealed past illegal drug use that should have disqualified him from obtaining a US visa.

But the president told The New York Post Friday that he isn’t interested in throwing Harry out of the country.

When asked whether he was planning to deport the royal, Pres. Trump said: “I don’t want to do that,” adding that “[he’ll] leave him alone. He’s got enough problems with his wife. She’s terrible.”

Then we have this weekend’s matchup on Sunday in Super Bowl LIX between the two-time defending champions, the Kansas City Chiefs, and the defensive powerhouse Philadelphia Eagles, which Trump is attending–and he’s set to make history, as my colleague Susie Moore shared in her “Friday Morning Minute” column:

….President Trump will be in attendance at the Super Bowl on Sunday in New Orleans, marking the first time a sitting president will attend the event.

That fact has got to be burning up the leftists’ media allies, who made it their (failed) mission recently to convince Americans that the rising cost of their Super Bowl food shopping would be Trump’s fault:

So no, the story is not a sop for vegetarians, but a creative new angle to pin former President Joe Biden’s failures on Donald Trump’s nascent term. They truly want to attack the president any way they possibly can, and they hit on one of the most viral topics right now–the Super Bowl–to try to turn Americans against the new administration’s plans.

AP Finds a Way to Blame the High Cost of Americans’ Super Bowl Party Spread… on Donald Trump

Trump once again said it in the way only he can–and it’s funny. Here’s his statement:

Have a wonderful weekend, whether you plan on watching the Super Bowl on Sunday or not. And I’ll leave you, RedState readers, with something that’s been on my mind the past day or so: The important thing is to remember that there’s always someone who would love a quick phone call or message from a friend–and keep looking for humor in the world around us. It’s there!
