‘The View’s Ana Navarro Speculates Trump Will “Ban Black People From Halftime” After Kendrick Lamar’s Performance

Ana Navarro has a feeling President Donald Trump might not have liked Kendrick Lamar‘s halftime performance at the Super Bowl last night.

This morning’s edition of the popular show, The View, kicked off with a discussion about the recent big game held at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. It was noted that Trump made history by being the first sitting president to attend a Super Bowl. Even though one of the hosts, Navarro, confessed she didn’t watch the game, she jokingly speculated that Trump might want to exclude Black performers from future halftime shows following Lamar’s performance.

Navarro humorously suggested, “I wouldn’t be surprised if today Donald Trump decides to issue an executive order to keep Black people out of the halftime show. Remember last week when we discussed the NFL removing ‘End Racism’ from the end zone to please Trump? Well, this time they didn’t bend to his wishes.”

The hosts praised actor Samuel L. Jackson for his attire resembling a “Black Uncle Sam” as he introduced Lamar onto the field. This introduction was then followed by a impactful performance featuring a group of Black dancers forming an American flag.

“All of the Black people on my feed were like, ‘Ooo. This is blackity black black,’” Navarro said. “And all the racists who somehow get in, man, were they hopping mad. So if the racists are mad, I am happy as a clam.”

Most of all, Navarro was thrilled to see Black people being celebrated in a city like New Orleans.

“It was a huge, huge celebration of New Orleans and you can’t celebrate New Orleans without celebrating Black culture,” she said, before adding, “Welcome to Black History Month, you all!”

While Trump has yet to comment on Lamar’s halftime show, other right-wing figures have been up in arms.

“The halftime show you just watched is clearly the regime’s response to Trump’s historic gains with black men,” Matt Gaetz wrote on X, despite Lamar’s performance being announced months before Election Day. Former Rep. George Santos also wrote, “The Super Bowl Halftime show was absolute TRASH!”

The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
