Search efforts for 29-year-old Leah Bellitto, who was last seen in the Ransom Oaks neighborhood in Amherst on Saturday night, are still ongoing in New York. Volunteers and the police are working together to locate her.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, Amherst Police Department said Bellitto was last seen by family members Saturday around 9 p.m. in East Amherst.
Searchers found a barefoot footprint in the snow and one of Bellitto’s gloves discarded under a highway overpass, according to WGRZ.
When she left, Bellitto wore a black long-sleeve shirt, pajama pants, and a blue backpack.
A volunteer named Wayne Michalak shared his perspective, stating the importance of swift action in searching for missing individuals, emphasizing the urgency as if it were his own family. This reflects the dedication of the community in supporting the search for Bellitto.
Authorities have described Bellitto as a white female, standing at 5 feet 6 inches tall with brown hair and brown eyes, weighing approximately 135 pounds. She was last seen wearing a black long sleeve shirt, black pants, and carrying a blue flowered-patterned backpack.
