The Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office says the victim was pronounced dead at the scene at a residence on Colonial Hills Drive.
An investigation is underway following the death of a 21-year-old man in a shooting incident in Akron, Ohio. The Akron police and the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office are looking into the case.
The authorities were alerted to the situation when they received a call about a shooting at a residence on Colonial Hills Drive at around 6:45 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered the victim lying on the kitchen floor with a gunshot wound.
He was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:05 p.m.
The victim has been identified as Eric Jones of Akron.
After conducting initial investigations, the police identified a person in the Kenmore area who was believed to have information regarding the incident. This individual was taken into custody, questioned, and subsequently released.
Akron police say they recovered one firearm.
