Kim Kardashian has announced that she will not be participating in another roast after facing booing from the audience and disrespect from some of the comedians at Netflix’s Roast of Tom Brady.
In a recent episode of The Kardashians Season 6 titled “I Don’t Erase What’s Happened,” Kardashian opens up about her experience of being booed while attempting to deliver a champagne toast to Tom Brady during the live event.
Expressing her true feelings, Kardashian stated, “I would never do a roast again. It’s not good for the soul.” She continues in the confessional, “I never expected to be booed. But it seems you can never please everyone. It’s like, ‘Oh, football fans. Oh, sports fans. Oh, they despise the Kardashians.'”
Kardashian says she was supposed to leave immediately after giving her toast so she could catch a flight back to New York City for the Met Ball. But because she didn’t want to look like a “poor sport,” she decided to stay.
While she was certainly surprised by the negative reaction, she did not use her star power to have Netflix delete the boos from the final cut.
“No. I could care less. Let me live my life,” she says. “It happened. I don’t erase what happened. Listen, I’m the best sport. I can handle it. But it wasn’t new. All they do is call the girls whores. It was just the same thing.”
Without naming names, the reality star seemingly calls out comedian Tony Hinchcliffe for making a crude joke at her expense.
“She’s had a lot of Black men celebrating her end-zone,” Hinchcliffe, who later came under fire for offending Puerto Rico at a Donald Trump rally, said at the roast. “Kim, word of advice: close your legs. You have more public beef than Kendrick [Lamar] and Drake.”
Kardashian says it was “the easiest joke” that would’ve been said “about anyone.” But that didn’t make it sting any less!
“I was just like, why do I put myself in these situations to feel shitty? It really bothered me too,” she admits.
The Skims founder also addresses comedian Andrew Schultz’s claim that she seemed “completely detached” from everything going on around her.
“What would you think, from someone sitting there, hearing horrible things about themselves? Am I supposed to sit there and be like, ‘How innovative, you called me a whore!’” Kardashian says. “Of course you’re gonna freeze. You’re gonna just fucking freeze and be like, ‘Uh-huh. Mhm. Tracy — how much longer?’”
Kardashian does throw out one compliment to comedian Nikki Glaser for her bit in the roast, telling the cameras that she “killed it.” Still, it doesn’t sound like we’ll ever see her at another roast in the future.
“I’m not just gonna sit here and literally be the victim. It wasn’t about me,” she says. “It was fun to be a part of it. I did it and I never have to do it again.”
New episodes of The Kardashians air every Thursday on Hulu.
