A former investigator suggested that President Donald Trump should consider taking executive action to appoint a UFO czar in order to reveal the mysterious nature of unidentified aerial phenomena.
Nick Pope, who conducted investigations on behalf of the UK Government’s Ministry of Defence, has urged the federal government to accelerate its efforts to solve the long-standing enigma that has puzzled officials in Washington DC.

For many years, there have been claims that government officials have ignored and concealed the truth about unidentified aerial phenomena. The demand for openness and revelation is gaining momentum and becoming increasingly vocal.
And, UAPs have now been linked to national security fears and concerns have escalated that America’s enemies are penetrating the skies.
Alien enthusiasts believe humans are being visited by an extra-terrestrial species, while skeptics have suggested something more sinister.
But regardless of origins, Pope believes Americans should be told the truth.
“It might be an extraterrestrial presence,” he acknowledged.
“But, it might be something really dark.
“What if it’s something we would call demonic. What if it’s omnipotent intelligence that created humans as an experiment and is about to pull the plug.”
In terms of unravelling the mystery, Pope has urged the government to take a “Gordian knot” style approach.
The Gordian knot revolves around the concept of solving a complex problem with decisive action.
He believes it should resemble the approach Elon Musk has taken as he spearheads the Department of Government Efficiency.
The Tesla tycoon has been honing in on areas where he believes the federal government is wasting money.
Doge, inspired by the popular meme featuring the dog Kabosu, has been tasked with making $2 trillion worth of cuts.
“We need a Gordian knot approach to UAPs – the sort of thing that Elon Musk and Doge have delivered,” Pope said.
“We don’t want committees and working groups. We want quick action.”
The real threat of UFOs and aliens
FOR decades, UFOs and aliens were considered to be make belief things created by people in tinfoil hats but they are now considered a threat to national security.
Long gone are those who claim conspiracy theories are all false as many are now discussed at the highest levels of government with US officials even admitting their existence.
As more and more credible witnesses continue to come forward to tell their extraordinary stories publicly.
The 2010s saw decades of stigmas around extraterrestrial life start to break down as politicians made UFO sightings a matter of national security.
Across the world, governments have also unveiled some spooky truths with some even showcasing “dead alien corpses” on display for Congress.
Researchers recently verified the legitimacy of a set of three-fingered mummies as potential evidence of “non-human” life forms.
A line-up of doctors confirmed in Mexico’s Congress that the bodies, purportedly not of this Earth, were in fact real, once-living organisms.
The Pentagon also released a blockbuster 1,574 pages of real-life X-Files in 2022, related to its secretive UFO programme.
The haul includes reports into research on the biological effects of UFO sightings on humans, sets out categorisations for paranormal experiences, and studies into sci-fi-style tech.
Top UFO chief Sean Kirkpatrick told the world he would resign from his job following his stern warning of concerning activity “in our backyard.”
The Pentagon’s UFO analysis office launched a UFO reporting service to the public after admitting to uncovering “some things” and calling the high number of suspicious activity either a foreign power or aliens.
Navy jet footage has revealed the intriguing images of a government-confirmed UFO baffling the internet.
The United States Government launched the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) in 2022 to investigate reports of unidentified flying objects (UFOs).
Critics have claimed delays in releasing material and a lack of transparency is linked to shadowy officials tucked away in the dark rooms of government.
“Elon Musk can be President Trump’s Rottweiler,” Pope said.
“He can go into these dark corners and very quickly wheedle out information.”
Pope has urged Trump to take executive action in distinct ways.
He suggested that the president could sign an order releasing anyone from non-disclosure agreements linked to UAPs.
“He could make it an order that anyone involved in such a program reports it to Congress with a view to then declassifying and releasing as much information as possible,” he said.
Pope also championed the idea of a so-called UFO czar.
He put his own name forward for the role, but said the individual needs to be a maverick.
Pope warned that any UFO czar should not be a politician or career bureaucrat.
And, he revealed they should be hired by the president and accountable to him.
“They should have an access all areas pass,” he said.
“And it shouldn’t be one that takes months [to be processed].
“This person should have all security clearances and full authority to go into any part of the system – government or the private sector.”
What if it’s omnipotent intelligence that created humans as an experiment and is about to pull the plug
Nick Pope
Pope explained such a person would be given a target, a window of 30 or 60 days, to discover whether there is or isn’t a highly classified UFO program.
They would also investigate whether or not there is an illegal program on UAPs, or non-human intelligence.
A UFO czar would also develop a contingency plan, focusing how to deal with an extraterrestrial presence.
Pope previously told The U.S. Sun that first contact with extra-terrestrials could spark global chaos.
And, the former government investigator believes this would be a start to learning the lessons of Covid-19.
“We had contingency plans for global pandemics,” he said.
“History told us that it was only a matter of time and when it happened, we all lost our collective minds.
“We don’t have a contingency plan for dealing with an extraterrestrial presence so all bets are off.
“We don’t know how people would react and that’s because there are so many variables.”
CONTINGENCY PLANS
Pope stressed that any contingency plan would have to be de-politicized.
“The response to Covid went so wrong largely because it became politicized,” he said.
The expert explained how the concept of UAP is an opportunity for Trump.
Republicans as well as Democrats have called for greater transparency.
Chuck Schumer, the Senate Democratic Leader, urged Trump to declassify UFO documents.
Trump signed an order to declassify files on John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy, and Martin Luther King Jr’s assassinations.
Pope believes 2025 could be “sensational” in terms of trying to unravel the mystery and during a sit-down with Joe Rogan, Trump said he had conversations with pilots who reportedly encountered fast-moving objects.
“I have to be honest, I have never been a believer,” Trump said on the podcast that aired before November’s election.
“I interviewed jet pilots that were solid people, perfect. I mean, great pilots, great everything.
“And they said we saw things sir that were very strange, like a round ball.
“But it wasn’t a comet or a meteor it was something, and it was going four times faster than an F-22 which is a very fast plane.”
THIRST FOR ANSWERS
Eric Burlison, who represents Missouri’s seventh congressional district, told NewsNation he thinks Trump will provide answers on the phenomenon.
In September, Trump told the computer scientist Lex Fridman he would release UFO footage if he won the election.
And Donald Trump Jr has claimed there’s “convincing evidence” aliens are heading for earth.
In 2020, Trump said he had heard “very interesting” things about the famous 1947 Roswell incident.
Meanwhile, Republican congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna is spearheading a task force designed to shed light on supposed federal government secrets.
She has vowed to restore trust through transparency and claimed the American spirit has been dimmed by “a veil of secrecy.”
