Elsbeth involves a family collaboration! The popular CBS series, created by the husband and wife team of Robert and Michelle King, is introducing another well-known family to the program: Matthew and James Wilkie Broderick!
In a sneak peek shared exclusively with Decider before the episode airing on February 20, titled “Foiled Again,” the father-son duo take the spotlight for their inaugural appearance together. Check out the special preview for next week’s episode using the media player above.
“As Elsbeth delves into the mysterious death of a college admissions officer, she engages in a battle of wits with Lawrence Grey (Matthew Broderick), an independent educational advisor who guarantees a future at an Ivy League institution to affluent clients and their average children. This case also leads Elsbeth and Teddy to ponder how well she prepared him for the challenges of reality,” describes an overview of the episode.
James Wilkie is the eldest of Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker’s three children — the longtime couple also shares two daughters, Marion and Tabitha. Aside from a small part in AppleTV+’s Lady In the Lake, the Elsbeth role marks one of James Wilkie’s first acting jobs. Looks like he’s following confidently in his mom and dad’s footsteps!
In addition to the promo, CBS also dropped some new photographs from the February 20 episode, including snaps with the Brodericks, Elsbeth Tascioni (Carrie Preston) and Kaya Blanke (Carra Patterson). One photo also sees the return of Elsbeth’s son, Teddy (Ben Levi Ross).
“Foiled Again” airs on CBS on February 20 at 10 p.m. ET. New episodes release the next day on Paramount+.
