A 20-year-old Florida man has been charged with killing his teenage girlfriend and tossing her body in the backyard.
Sheriff’s deputies from Miami-Dade were summoned to the residence on Monday evening by the mother of Dominique Domond, according to a report by WTVJ.
Domond claimed that he was assaulted by an unidentified man and his girlfriend, 17-year-old Jansie Barthold, and managed to defend himself by pushing Barthold outside. The altercation resulted in Barthold’s death.
Although Domond provided the same account to the investigators, they noted in their report that his version contained discrepancies and contradictions, notwithstanding his admission of a physical confrontation with the victim.
Ultimately, Domond admitted there was no unknown man in the home. He said there was no one else there and that he choked the victim to death and then threw her body into the backyard.
Domond was charged with second-degree murder and ordered held without bond, WSVN reported.
