An Indiana man was arrested Friday and charged with the Valentine’s Day murder of his wife.
According to a report by WDRB, Jeffersonville Police responded to a domestic disturbance call at a home on Friday evening. Although the caller’s identity was not disclosed by the authorities.
The situation quickly escalated, prompting the full deployment of the police department and assistance from the Indiana State Police, as mentioned in a brief statement released by the law enforcement.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers attempted to make contact by knocking on the door, but received no response. It was only when a acquaintance of the family residing in the house appeared and shared crucial information that the situation was deemed an “emergency rescue effort,” although specific details were not provided by the officials.
As officers breached the front door, the garage door opened, and 34-year-old Taylor Meyer came out. He was non-compliant and “aggressively” engaged the officers, prompting them to use some type of “control techniques” to subdue him “as quickly as possible.”
Once Meyer was in custody, officers found three children, all under the age of 5, inside, and Meyer’s 36-year-old wife dead on the floor. They did not say how she died, but Meyer was charged with murder.
The Indiana Department of Child Services responded to take custody of the children.
