Jake Paul claims Mike Tyson was diagnosed with Parkinson's before their Netflix fight in shock reveal

Jake Paul quickly U-turned after bizarrely claiming that Mike Tyson was ‘cured of Parkinson’s’ before they fought live on Netflix last year.

Paul stunned fans on Sunday by incorrectly revealing that boxing legend Tyson was diagnosed with Parkinson’s, only to be ‘cured’ by smoking toad.

In a discussion about different psychedelics with Adin Ross, Paul mentioned the benefits of Ayahuasca and toad, stating that they are good for the brain.

‘Toad cured Tyson’s Parkinson’s so that he could come back and fight.’ When asked how it worked, he replied: ‘You smoke it.’

Shortly after, amid much speculation and frenzy over Tyson’s health, Paul took to social media to shed some more light on the situation.

Paul expressed frustration at a mistake he made regarding Mike Tyson and Parkinson’s disease. He clarified that Tyson used toad to alleviate pain, not to cure Parkinson’s, as he misspoke in his initial statement.

Tyson’s representatives also denied that the former undisputed heavyweight champion has Parkinson’s disease in light of Paul’s comments.

‘Mike is happy and perfectly healthy,’ a spokesperson for Mike told DailyMail.com. ‘He doesn’t have Parkinson’s or any other illness.’

It is important to note that while Paul initially suggested that Tyson was cured of Parkinson’s, this disease is currently considered incurable by medical professionals, and no known method exists to completely eradicate it from the body.

Instead, there are various treatments to manage the symptoms and improve quality of life.

Boxing legend Muhammad Ali was previously diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 1984, and his health deteriorated prior to his death in June 2016.

He was diagnosed at the age of 42 and lived with the disease for 32 years before he died at hospital in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Tyson’s return to the ring was hugely controversial throughout the build-up, with many urging the boxing legend to reconsider his decision.

Speaking on the red carpet at a horse racing event last month, Tyson admitted that he hasn’t fully recovered from his fight with Paul.

In the immediate aftermath of the bout, Tyson claimed he ‘blanked out’ during the fight and didn’t remember elements of it.

‘You know what I remember? Coming back from the first round, and then the next thing I remember, Jake is doing some kind of bow,’ he told Covino & Rich on FOX Sports.

It is understood Tyson took home a $20million paycheck for his night in the ring with YouTube sensation Paul.

In his professional career, Tyson recorded 50 wins, seven losses and one draw.

He has seven children with three women, and has been married three times.

He is currently married to Lakiha Spicer, and after the Paul bout her feelings on Tyson fighting again were made very clear.

Tyson’s son, Amir, told Seconds Out: ‘I think he’s done. My stepmom, she’s saying he’s done and they’re a team. That’s husband-and-wife stuff.’

Worried for his father’s safety, Amir fears his plea to tell Mike to call it quits would go in one ear and out the other.

Speaking to SunSport, Amir said: ‘That chat would be a waste of time! He is his own man.’
