Northern Kentucky takes down Cleveland State men's basketball 85-75, ending Vikings' 13-game winning streak

Tahj Staveskie scored 22 points and drained five 3s as the Vikings maintained their place atop the Horizon League.

DETROIT — Tahj Staveskie scored 22 points as Cleveland State beat Detroit Mercy 73-65 on Friday night.

Staveskie had a shooting performance of 6 out of 16 from the field, making 5 of 10 shots from 3-point range, and hitting 5 out of 6 free throws for the Vikings, who have a record of 19-9 overall and 13-4 in the Horizon League. Reece Robinson contributed 11 points, shooting 4 out of 7 from the field. Tevin Smith scored 10 points, making 3 of 6 field goal attempts and 4 of 6 free throws.

Orlando Lovejoy was the top scorer for the Titans, with 17 points and six rebounds. Nate Johnson also made significant contributions with 16 points for Detroit Mercy. Additionally, Emmanuel Kuac chipped in with nine points for the team.

Cleveland State’s next game is Sunday against Oakland on the road, and Detroit Mercy visits Green Bay on Thursday.
