Illinois man indicted in teenage stepson's murder after alleged torture, beating

A man from Illinois is being accused of multiple offenses, such as murder, in relation to claims that prolonged mistreatment and maltreatment resulted in the tragic death of his 16-year-old stepson.

Steven Griffin, aged 44, has been formally charged with eight allegations, which involve first-degree murder, following the passing of his stepson, Daniel Garza, as confirmed by Sangamon County State’s Attorney John Milhiser.

Griffin allegedly failed to provide adequate food and water and caused blunt force injuries to Daniel’s body and head, leading to the boy’s death.
