Georgia's nudists are pleading for help saving their sprawling naked-only resort - but it'll set you back $1.8M

An entire resort is on sale for just $1.8 million – but only if the buyer keeps running it as a ‘family-friendly’ haven for nudists.

Serendipity Park is a long-running no-clothes resort near Cleveland in rural Georgia where thousands of naturists flock throughout the year.

The holiday destination offers a variety of amenities such as a swimming pool, a clubhouse for social events, a hot tub, sauna, volleyball court, and scenic walks by a creek that runs alongside the property.

There are a total of six cabins located on the 40-acre property, along with 36 spots for caravans and two designated areas for setting up tents. Some visitors choose to stay for extended periods, with a few even making it their permanent residence.

Paul Jones founded the resort in 1995 as a relaxation venue, in contrast with the more raunchy Mountain Creek Grove swingers resort next door.

Children are welcome to enjoy all areas of the resort except during evening dance parties, where only adults are allowed to unwind and socialize. The resort has a policy that restricts activities beyond nudity to designated areas within the accommodation facilities.

‘Serendipity Park offers stress-free relaxation in a nudist environment that is appropriate for all ages,’ the resort’s website reads.

‘We also feature 100 per cent all-natural tan-line removal.’

The resort is registered with the American Association for Nude Recreation, which is focused on family-friendly venues where public sex is banned.

After Jones died of cancer in March 2023, his partner Patty Reagin and longtime manager Stuart Antrim are selling the property with plans to retire and go traveling.

They put deed restrictions on the property that require the buyer to continue to operate it as a nudist resort for at least 10 years.

‘Ideal for buyers passionate about naturism with a desire to own a prosperous business in the niche hospitality sector,’ real estate agent Brittany Hall wrote on the listing.

Many nudist resorts have closed in recent years, or been transformed into swingers clubs after being bought. Only a handful remain in the South.

Serendipity has a 4.5 trip advisor rating and receives glowing reviews about how friendly the gests and residents are, even from first-timers.

‘If you are thinking you’d like to try the clothing optional experience, this is the place to start. Incredibly friendly and family oriented – oh, and super safe,’ one wrote.

‘I talked with over 50 people of different nationalities, genders, colors, religions and ages. Everyone was just so darn friendly. I didn’t want to leave.’

Another summed up a long review with: ‘While we were understandably nervous being first timers, all our fears and concerns were unfounded.’

‘We realized that we should have done this 20 years ago shortly after we got married and before we started having kids so we could have taken them with us and they could grow up with a healthier view of other humans as well.’
