    With Israel delaying the release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners scheduled for Saturday, a man was captured sitting on the ground, using his mobile phone in the West Bank city of Ramallah on Sunday, February 23, 2025. The man, who was eagerly waiting for the release of the prisoners, had to face the disappointment of the news.

    Similarly, family members also eagerly awaited the release of Palestinian prisoners, following the developments closely after hearing about the delay by Israel. The emotional turmoil of waiting for the release of loved ones from incarceration was visible in the West Bank city of Ramallah.

    Nadeen, a 36-year-old woman, was particularly distraught upon learning about the delay in the release of her brother, Ahamd al-Seifi, aged 35, who had spent 15 years in Israeli jails. In a heart-wrenching moment, Nadeen was comforted by a relative as she shed tears over the unfortunate news. The emotional impact of such delays on the families of the prisoners was profound and palpable in the city.

    The comments by Katz come as Israel is intensifying an offensive in the Palestinian territory and as the ceasefire that paused the Gaza war is holding.

    The military said Sunday it was expanding the raid in the West Bank to other areas and was sending tanks to Jenin, a militant stronghold.
