A New York man has been charged with sexually abusing a 15-year-old boy whose body was found on a New Rochelle sidewalk earlier this month.
Hugo Horacio Perez-Gabriel, 32, was initially charged with concealing a human corpse in the death of Jonson Temaj, WCBS reports.
A new allegation against Perez-Gabriel alleges that he requested and received sexual content from the boy through WhatsApp, according to the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office.
Westchester County District Attorney Susan Cacace expressed deep concern over the accusations, stating, “The allegations in this complaint are extremely disturbing. The fact that this same defendant was previously charged in connection with the dumping of a 15-year-old boy’s corpse makes this case all the more horrific.” Cacace added, “My office is working tirelessly to uncover the circumstances surrounding this boy’s situation, and I am dedicated to ensuring justice for his family.”
The boy’s remains were discovered near Charles Street and Washington Avenue in New Rochelle on February 6. An additional arrest was made relating to the incident, with a 16-year-old also taken into custody.
The DA’s office said the new charges are two counts each of use of a child in a sexual performance, disseminating indecent material to minors, and possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child.
The medical examiner has not yet determined the cause of Tamaj’s death, and no one has been charged directly with the death.
