A woman has shared the horrifying experience she went through during a three-month period of being abducted, sexually assaulted, and subjected to degrading treatment, including being forced to consume water from a dog’s bowl. The victim managed to escape in the early hours of the morning after enduring unimaginable suffering.
The 27-year-old, whose identity has not been disclosed, was reportedly kidnapped and abused by a truck driver named Karel N. in Sirem, located in the northwestern region of the Czech Republic.
Running away from the torment at approximately 3 am on February 16, the woman, who was physically restrained with a chain around her neck, sought assistance from neighbors, where she detailed the nightmarish ordeal reminiscent of the infamous Josef Fritzl case.
The woman was allegedly kept in the basement of the Sirem house for over three months where she was chained up and held in filthy conditions and forced to drink from a dog bowl.
The resident who answered the door to the woman told Czech news outlet Idnes: “I was woken up by the doorbell at three in the morning.
“I looked out the window and there was a young woman standing there.
“I was terribly scared, she looked miserable.”
“She was wearing leggings and a hoodie pulled over her head.
“She had a chain wrapped around her neck. She was moaning that she had been trapped in the basement since November and was begging for help.
“I woke my husband up and we took her inside. I locked everything, I was afraid someone was following her.”
Another added: “She had no hair and a thick chain with a huge lock around her neck; she was just skin and bones.
“She said he shaved her head and rarely gave her anything to eat, just sometimes a little bread and water from a bowl, like a dog.
“He stripped her naked, chained her up, beat her, raped her and did other crazy things to her.”
One resident said that she looked like someone who had escaped a concentration camp.
The woman told her neighbours how she managed to escape using the chain that had held her hostage on a bed.
“She [said she] was tied to a heavy bed,” a neighbour said.
“She managed to pull the chain out and use it to climb out of the window.”
Her abuser was not home when she managed her escape, another local said.
After approaching the neighbours, they helped remove the chain from her neck and phoned the emergency services.
Her ordeal appears to echo that of Elisabeth Fritzl who was abused by her evil father Josef for years in his cellar in Austria.
Karel N has since been arrested and reportedly knew the victim.
Locals have described the truck driver as “sociable” though he was often away due to his job, but local media have brought his dark past to light.
He has reportedly been known to police after luring a 22-year-old woman to his home in Kryry, Louny, in 2021 where he held and brutalised her.
The monster allegedly promised she would get a job after she became unemployed and put a dog head mask on her, used chains to hand her up and tie her limbs together, and gave her electric shocks.
It is claimed that a female accomplice helped Karel with these crimes.
Hana Bachova, the president of the Louny District Court, told local outlet CNN Prima News: “She was then held in a torturous manner, one could even say tortured in various ways, and her human dignity was humiliated.
“There was also a certain form of sexual intercourse.”
After being held hostage for a day, the woman managed to escape which saw Karel jailed for three years for rape and deprivation of liberty.
However, an appeal saw him released early on probation in 2022.
At the time, the judge ruled that the three-year sentence was harsh as Karel vowed that he would never do anything so depraved again.
He is now behind bars as he awaits trial for the alleged crimes committed against the second woman.
Prosecutors spoke out about the rejection of bail, saying: “He is a person who often travels outside the Czech Republic, so the reason for his detention was found to be a fugitive.
“At the same time, not all witnesses were heard and there is a risk that he could influence their statements and also repeat his criminal activity.”
If found guilty, he could face 12 years behind bars.
Josef Fritzl’s crimes
THE twisted dad asks his daughter Elisabeth to help him install a door in his cellar in 1984.
She agreed and moments later she is drugged with an ether-soaked towel, tied up and chained to a bed.
She would spend the next 24 years locked up in the hellish prison in Amstetten.
Evil Fritzl went on to rape her over 3,000 times in rat-infested bunker.
He would beat and kick her and force her into degrading acts – including re-enacting scenes from violent porn films.
Elisabeth gave birth to seven babies in the cellar with no medical care.
Kerstin, born 1988, Stefan (1990) and Felix (2002) were left to live with their mum in the underground hellhole.
But Lisa, (born 1992) Monica (1994) and Alexander (1996) – were raised upstairs, by Fritzl and his wife Rosemarie after he convinced her they were left on the doorstep by Elisabeth.
Alexander’s twin Michael died shortly after birth with cruel Fritzl tossing his body in an incinerator.
The family’s nightmare sees Fritzl threatening them if they dare to escape and punishing them by switching off the electricity.
Their nightmare comes to an end when Kerstin fell critically ill in 2008.
Fritzl allowed Elisabeth to take her to the hospital where she revealed the shocking horrors she had suffered.
Despite trying to argue he was trying to be a protective father, Fritzl was sentenced to life in prison in 2009.
