Queensland Premier David Crisafulli is currently not commenting on whether he will go back on an election commitment and adhere to proposals to construct a new Olympic stadium for Brisbane 2032.
Crisafulli had vowed not to build a new stadium if elected but he also commissioned a 100 day independent review of Olympic and Paralympic venues.
9News has disclosed that a preliminary report of the assessment has been submitted to the government, suggesting the construction of a new stadium at Victoria Park.

Although the favored choice among senior LNP figures was to renovate the Gabba stadium, there are doubts according to the review if a renovation could be completed in time as the Gabba cannot be demolished until the conclusion of the Ashes in December.
