A video created by artificial intelligence showcased Donald Trump’s ambitious idea for turning the Gaza Strip into a luxurious resort town, a vision that was heavily criticized as unrealistic.
In a recent announcement, Trump put forth a controversial proposal for the United States to assume control of the Gaza Strip, a plan that received backing from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The proposal, however, was slammed by global lawmakers and analysts who argued that the President’s plan would displace two million Palestinians.
Despite facing criticism, Trump remains supportive of the concept as evidenced by his posting of a video on Truth Social that illustrated opulent beach resorts and upscale hotels replacing the current desolate landscape.
Although it is unclear who created the video, social media users were quick to criticize Trump for sharing it, with many branding it as ‘insane’ and saying it reveals a ‘sick mindset’.
Some X users accused the President of having ‘absolutely no care for the multitude of innocent lives lost’ during the Israel-Hamas war and others said he was ‘unhinged’.
‘This isn’t a campaign – it’s a delusional sales pitch for a world that only exists in his head,’ one critic said of the video, while another referred to Trump’s Gaza vision as a ‘fantasy land where Gaza magically transforms into a billionaire’s playground’.
Other social media users were shocked and at a ‘loss for words’ that Trump even shared the video at all, with some suggesting the post makes the US look like it is ‘not a serious country’.
‘Trump is insane,’ one X user wrote, heavily criticizing Trump and his Tuesday night post. ‘The Trump Gaza video is just another example. His narcissistic megalomaniacal dementia is very dangerous.’
‘I feel physically sick at Trump’s Gaza clip. I just can’t comprehend how a human being could be so vile,’ another echoed.
‘The Trump Gaza video the President posted on his own social media reveals a sick mindset. It’s filth on a world stage,’ penned another.
‘Absolutely no care for the multitude of innocent lives lost upon which Trump can build his casino, dance with bearded ladies and sunbathe with a psychopath who has most world leaders in his pocket.’
‘This is some heady degeneracy they are feeding us and expecting us to stomach. Makes me puke,’ the X user continued.
One critic suggested the ‘Trump Gaza video is satire,’ adding that the ‘joke is that Trump posted it without realizing’.
‘The exotic dancers is the clincher,’ the critic continued. ‘Look carefully. Then read Jonathan Swift’s hilariously grim A Modest Proposal. The best satire always sails close to the wind.’
Another furious X user slammed Trump’s ‘AI-generated fantasy’ for the region.
‘Trump just dropped an AI-generated fantasy of a “future Gaza,” pitching it like his next real estate venture. This isn’t a campaign – it’s a delusional sales pitch for a world that only exists in his head,’ they tweeted.
‘He treats geopolitics like a SimCity expansion pack. Reality check: He’s no peacemaker, no strategist – just a fraudulent landlord selling pipe dreams and leaving chaos behind.’
‘I don’t even know where to start or finish on this one. It is a dystopian nightmare of AI generation. In every sense,’ tweeted another.
The Republicans Against Trump account said the video is ‘a reminder that in recent weeks, Trump has repeatedly said that the US will “own Gaza” and has said its 2 million residents will be relocated.’
One shocked X user added: ‘President Trump just shared this video “Trump Gaza”. The future is, at the very least, extremely interesting.’
Another claimed they had ‘no words for the Trump Gaza video’ and questioned if Trump ‘realizes being President is an actual job, not just a reality show?’
‘US President Donald J. Trump has posted this AI video and song on Truth Social, claiming to show the “future” of the Gaza Strip, I’m seriously at a loss for words right now,’ another echoed.
‘I think people need to start taking Trump’s plan for Gaza more seriously. I think the man has a vision for peace that nobody has ever had before. Blessed be the peacemakers,’ another replied.
One user joked that by sharing the video online ‘Trump is straight up trolling the liberals at this point!’
Another added: ‘President Trump is unhinged sometimes. I am here for it. “Trump Gaza”, everyone!’
‘Trump Gaza looks pretty woke to me,’ another sarcastically quipped, seemingly referencing a strange moment in the video where a group of bearded and long-haired belly dancers perform on the sand as a song made for the clip plays in the background.
The song’s lyrics go: ‘Donald’s coming to set you free, bringing the light for all to see, no more tunnels, no more fear, Trump Gaza is finally here, Trump Gaza’s shining bright, golden future, a brand new light, feast and dance, the deal is done, Trump Gaza number one.’
The video, which appears to have been generated using AI, in a series of bold, gaudy images shows a glorious beach resort with ritzy hotels built over the rubble and a gigantic, golden statue of Trump looming over various tourists.
Elsewhere, a child is seen holding up a large, golden balloon with Trump’s head and ‘First Buddy’ Elon Musk is seen enjoying the sights and sounds, eating some food and tossing around cash to visitors and children.
The clip also shows Trump seen enjoying the company of a non-bearded belly dancer in a restaurant with multiple chandeliers hanging from the ceiling.
Towards the end, the marquee of the rebuilt region’s biggest building is seen, declaring it: ‘TRUMP GAZA.’ Inside one of the buildings, a shop selling all-golden miniatures of Trump’s head is seen.
Finally, Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu are shown lying on the beach, topless, with a drink in hand.
