Ruff Start Rescue said the puppies were about 12 weeks old and survived -25 degree temperatures.
PRINCETON, Minn. — Two puppies are safe and warm after a Princeton shelter rescued them from freezing temperatures under a porch in Cokato.Â
A litter of 12-week-old puppies was found to be wary and hesitant when the homeowners in Cokato attempted to move them into the garage. Ruff Start Rescue posted on Facebook that these puppies were likely abandoned by their owners.
To rescue the puppies, rotisserie chicken was used to entice them out from under the porch. The rescuers also tended to their frostbitten noses and paws. The rescue organization later updated on Facebook that the puppies are now placed in a foster home where they are gradually learning to trust humans.
Although the puppies are not available for adoption yet due to their apprehension towards people, they are gradually improving. Once they become more comfortable and sociable, Ruff Start Rescue will make them available for adoption through their website.
