A Texas man out on probation is back behind bars after allegedly attacking several women in the Montrose area.
Troy Johnson is facing multiple charges including evading arrest, threatening robbery, and attempted robbery as reported by FOX Houston. Johnson allegedly assaulted four women in the Montrose area over a span of three days in February, according to court documents.
He allegedly slapped one woman and punched another in the back of the head on different occasions.
Police launched the investigation after social media posts surfaced, showing photos and videos of Johnson allegedly assaulting women.
In one video, Johnson followed a woman walking her dog, yelling at her and demanding money.
Click2Houston reports that his criminal history dates back to 2019, when he faced accusations of assaulting a woman at a restaurant.
The court dismissed the case in October 2021.
He was previously arrested in April 2022 for attempting to assault a man with a knife and later accepted a plea deal in January 2023, which resulted in five years of deferred adjudication or probation.
Furthermore, in July 2023, a woman accused Johnson of trying to steal her car and hitting her with the vehicle door. In March 2024, he was indicted by a Harris County grand jury for robbery based on this accusation.
He accepted a plea deal that reduced the charge to assault, resulting in a 300-day sentence in Harris County Jail.
“Pathetic. Why bother having probation conditions when you can violate them at will including multiple convictions on probation and still remain on probation?” Houston Crime Stoppers director, Andy Kahan, told CrimeOnline.
Officials have filed five motions to revoke his adjudication. If a judge revokes it, Johnson could receive a prison sentence for the 2023 charge.
