The Department of Health and Human Services has ended an agreement with a non-profit organization that was receiving millions every month to manage a Texas overflow facility that remained unused. This update was provided by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
DOGE stated in a social media post that a former employee of the U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement agency, who was also a member of the Biden transition team, joined Family Endeavors at the beginning of 2021. In this role, they contributed to helping the organization secure an exclusive HHS contract to provide overflow housing from licensed care facilities.
“As a result, Family Endeavors’ cash and portfolio of investments grew from $8.3M in 2020 to $520.4M in 2023, the post states.

Ed Martin, the U.S. Attorney for Washington D.C., was also tagged in the social media post.
“I see it. We will dig into this,” he replied.
Under the leadership of Elon Musk, DOGE has adopted a radical approach to tackling inefficient government expenditures. Musk recently shared his prediction that DOGE is on track to achieve a $100 trillion reduction in spending.
“If we don’t do this, America is going to be bankrupt,” he said during President Donald Trump’s first Cabinet meeting.
