Trump’s attorney general pick Pam Bondi will tell him what he wants to hear, but won’t always do it, Scaramucci predicts

According to former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci, Donald Trump’s nominee for attorney general is a savvy individual who may not always execute the president’s directives exactly as given.

Law school grad Pam Bondi has been tasked to lead the Department of Justice after Matt Gaetz withdrew from being Trump’s pick last month.

Matt Gaetz, known for his provocative nature, opted not to create any disturbances within the new president’s administration following allegations of sexual impropriety that he refutes.

Subsequently, Trump looked to another loyal supporter, Pam Bondi, assuring that the Justice Department’s focus under her leadership would prioritize crime prevention and the revival of America’s safety measures.

In recent years, Bondi has been a staunch defender of Trump.

While addressing the 2016 Republican National Convention, she appeared to lap up supporters chanting “Lock her up” in reference to Hillary Clinton.

Bondi was part of Trump’s defense team for his first impeachment trial, where he was accused of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.

She will enter the DOJ at a time when both sides of the political divide distrust the department.

Joe Biden believes the probe into his son, Hunter, was politically motivated.

At the same time, Trump loyalists have blasted figures such as Special Counsel Jack Smith in relation to the federal probes into the president-elect.

But, Scaramucci, who served in the first Trump administration for 11 days in 2017, believes Bondi’s nomination is a clever move by Trump, hailing her astuteness.

“I think she’s going to do a good job,” he told The U.S. Sun.

Biden has given Trump the green light to pardon people – but prez-elect will be more mature about it, Scaramucci insists

“She’s a disciple of Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio. She’s friends with Susie Wiles, Trump’s nominee for chief of staff.

“I think she’s the type of person that will say what Donald Trump wants to hear, but won’t necessarily do what Donald Trump wants to have done.”

Scaramucci also thinks Bondi will be a “fair arbiter” of justice.

The former White House communications director believes Trump will show more maturity in his second term and will not seek retribution against his political opponents, despite what he said on the campaign trail.

Who is Anthony Scaramucci?

Anthony Scaramucci served as Donald Trump’s White House Director of Communications for just 11 days in the summer of 2017.

He held the position from July 20 until July 31, 2017.

Scaramucci holds the record of being the shortest serving comms chief in White House history.

Before entering the realm of politics, Scaramucci worked in finance.

He studied at Harvard Law School and joined Goldman Sachs in 1989.

But Scaramucci was fired after just 18 months.

He was later rehired by the company and in 1993 became the vice president of the Private Wealth Management division.

Scaramucci founded the venture capital company Oscar Capital Management before launching SkyBridge Capital in 2005.

After serving under President Trump, Scaramucci often appears on networks such as CNBC to discuss markets and economics.

He also stars on The Rest is Politics US podcast alongside renowned journalist Katty Kay.

But Bondi was not Trump’s first selection for the role of attorney general.

Trump eyed out Gaetz for the role of attorney general, and that announcement sent shockwaves through Washington.

Gaetz swiftly resigned from Congress at a time when House members were probing allegations of misconduct.

His nomination effectively stopped House lawmakers investigating sexual misconduct and drug allegations in their tracks.

Documents published by The New York Times appeared to show a series of payments Gaetz and his associates allegedly made to women involved in drug-fueled sex parties between 2017 and 2020.

Even though Gaetz will not be in the next Congress, lawmakers tried to ensure the release of the House Ethics Committee report.

The House has since voted against releasing the report.

But Bondi’s nomination does not come without controversy.

Following Trump’s indictment in Georgia over allegations he tried to overturn the 2020 election, Bondi vowed the so-called bad prosecutors would be prosecuted.

“The investigators will be investigated,” she said.

She also baselessly claimed that those who charged Trump were part of the deep state.

Bondi has also touted false claims the 2020 election was stolen.

In announcing her nomination, Trump claimed Bondi was tough on criminals and made streets safe for Floridians.

Top Republican senators have praised the nomination.

Senator Lindsey Graham, who sits on the judiciary committee, called it an Olympic gold medal pick.

“She will be confirmed quickly because she deserves to be confirmed quickly,” he claimed.

Bondi is set to join Trump’s ex-political rivals in his top team.

Florida Senator Marco Rubio has been nominated to serve as secretary of state, and former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy will head up the Department of Government Efficiency with Elon Musk.

Trump has also rewarded Susie Wiles, Doug Burgum, and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. with top jobs.

Wiles, known for being a savvy political operator, will be the first female White House chief of staff.

Fox News star Pete Hegseth was nominated to serve as defense secretary, but he has been embroiled in misconduct allegations.

It’s far from certain that a majority of senators will confirm his nomination.

Current Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has been reportedly eyed up as a replacement for Hegseth.

Trump has vehemently defended Hegseth and said he will be a fantastic secretary of defense.

Up to eight Republican senators could vote against Hegseth, as reported by The Hill.

Hegseth can only afford to lose four Republicans with their 53-47 advantage in the next Congress if all Democrats vote against his nomination.
