A judge from Kentucky was fatally shot in his chambers by a local sheriff. Reports suggest that the judge may have been involved in illicit activities, as a witness from another criminal case claimed that the judge was operating a brothel from his courtroom. This claim was presented as a defense for the shooting during the court proceedings.

During a recorded statement to the police in a case involving one of the ex-sheriff Shawn Stines’ former deputies, Sabrina Adkins alleged that there were videotapes showing activities taking place in the judge’s chambers. The deputy, Ben Fields, was found guilty this year on charges including rape, sodomy, perjury, and tampering with a prisoner monitoring device. He was sentenced to six months in jail and nearly ten years of probation.
