Tot Mom Casey Anthony joins TikTok and launches a Substack as a “legal advocate” who will “advocate for my daughter.”
Anthony, in her first TikTok video, asserts that she has had involvement in the legal field since 2011. This claim stems from her experience being on trial for her daughter’s murder, even though she was acquitted of the charge but convicted of lying to the police. Despite the tumultuous past, Anthony considers the platform as a blessing and expresses her support for the LGBTQ community.
Transitioning into her self-proclaimed role as a legal advocate, Anthony chooses to reintroduce herself by referencing her daughter Caylee and her parents, George and Cindy. She clarifies that her TikTok content is not primarily about her parents or their actions, but she hints that she may delve into these topics in future discussions.
Simultaneously with her TikTok debut, Anthony announces her partnership with Substack, a platform that operates on a subscription basis for writers and podcasters. Subscriptions to her channel are priced at $10 per month or $100 if subscribed annually, with a free tier that provides limited access to content.
The world learned about Casey Anthony when her mother called 911 to report that her granddaughter had been missing for nearly a month and that Casey had just admitted it. Anthony spun a web of lies, claiming a nanny had taken 2-year-old Caylee and had not returned her. Police and the media got involved, but none of her claims proved true.
On October 14, a grand jury indicted Anthony on charges of first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse, aggravated manslaughter of a child, and four counts of providing false information to police. She was arrested, pleaded not guilty, and was held without bail. Prosecutors announced plans to seek the death penalty. Anthony was acquitted of murder, but the jury convicted her on four counts of providing false information to law enforcement.
