This year’s Grand Marshal is Shannon M. Corcoran.

Shannon, a dedicated member of various Irish Organizations in Cleveland, has contributed her time and skills to enrich each of them. Her biography on the parade’s website mentions her involvement, starting from her time as a student at the Burke School of Irish Dance where she spent twelve years participating in performances and competitions, as well as assisting fellow students in mastering this demanding art.

The parade’s theme for 2025 is “celebrate the life of St. Brigid.”

The history of the Cleveland St. Patrick’s Day Parade dates back nearly two centuries.

The inaugural parade on record in Cleveland dates back to 1842 and was coordinated by Rev. Peter McLaughlin, the third resident Catholic priest of the city. Rev. McLaughlin advocated for temperance, promoting abstinence from alcohol. The St. Patrick’s Day festivities commenced with a mass at St. Mary’s on the Flats, which was the solitary Catholic church within Cleveland’s city boundaries at that period, followed by a Parade of the Catholic Temperance Society, and culminated with a banquet where friends and family members gathered.

Akron has already held their 2025 St. Patrick’s Day Parade, which happened on Saturday, March 8.
