Police investigate shootout between vehicles in Cleveland's Shaker Square neighborhood

3News crews found dozens of shell casings on the ground near the area.

CLEVELAND — Cleveland police are investigating a shootout between two vehicles that occurred in the Shaker Square neighborhood on Tuesday afternoon.

According to a press release, the incident took place at approximately 1:30 p.m. on the 2900 block of East 130th Street.

Upon receiving a ShotSpotter alert, the police were alerted to gunfire in the vicinity. Following a preliminary inquiry, it was established that two unidentified vehicles had engaged in a shootout.

Although two vehicles sustained damage, there have been no reports of any injuries. Law enforcement officials have discovered a vehicle, which is suspected to be linked to the altercation, parked and empty at a different location.

3News was on the scene after the initial investigation. Our crews spotted several dozen shell casings on the ground. 


No further information was given. The incident remains under investigation.
