A LISBON to London plane has been diverted to Porto because of “smoke on board.”
Emergency services rushed to the Tap Air plane after it landed at the Portuguese city after an alert was sounded at around 4.45pm.

According to Portuguese Civil Protection sources, there are 194 passengers and crew members aboard the aircraft, all requiring immediate medical attention.
Cops, firefighters, Red Cross officials and paramedics all rushed to the scene.
Other planes were ordered to remain in the air for permission to land as the aircraft made its emergency landing.
Several people were subsequently taken to hospital following the mid-air drama.
Reports from local media indicate that nine individuals have been hospitalized due to smoke inhalation, and two others have received medical assistance from responders at the scene.
A spokesperson from TAP had initially mentioned that the flight was rerouted to Porto due to a technical problem, and the landing was executed safely. The airline has arranged for the passengers to board a different flight heading back to London.
