A Pennsylvania man has been arrested after he allegedly slit his wife’s throat and then stabbed her multiple times to make sure she was dead.
The Northampton County District Attorney’s Office reported that Bethlehem Township Police were called to James Christopher Frank’s home, where he lived with his wife, Deborah Glaser, following a welfare check requested by a family member. Upon arrival, Frank informed the police that Glaser was found dead in the bathroom.
Glaser was discovered with multiple stab wounds, and the police also uncovered various sharp objects at the scene, such as knives, razor blades, box cutters, a hammer, and a mallet.
According to the DA’s office, Frank confessed to using a steak knife to slit Glaser’s throat in the trachea area while she was still alive. He then proceeded to puncture her chest and heart around ten times using a knife and a hammer. Frank admitted that his intention was to ensure Glaser was dead through these violent actions.
District Attorney Stephen Baratta told WFMZ that Frank didn’t appear for work on Monday or Tuesday and that his employer came to the house Tuesday morning but got no answer at the door.
Officers used a ladder to reach a second floor window to gain access to the house. That’s when the met Frank, who told them “My wife is dead in the bathtub.”
“I don’t want to call it a confession, but he made admissions after his participation in the death of his wife,” Baratta said.
“We can’t confirm how long she had been dead, but it was pretty clear that it was many hours prior to the police response,” said Baratta.
Frank was arrested and charged with criminal homicide.
