A woman from New Jersey has been missing for close to a year after going on a camping trip over a weekend. Danielle Lopez, who would have turned 38 years old during this time, was last sighted walking near her blue two-door Hyundai Accent on a remote dirt road deep within Penn State Forest at approximately 6 p.m. on April 13, 2024.
Danielle had gone camping at the Brendan T. Byrne State Forest Campground with her boyfriend to observe an eclipse. At the campground on Friday night, she had a conversation with her mother and appeared to be in a positive mood. The following Saturday morning, she was seen getting coffee at a Wawa located in Vincentown nearby.
Later that day, Danielle was observed driving along Lost Lane Road in Penn State Forest. Shortly after, she was witnessed walking. She approached a couple seeking assistance as her car had gotten stuck in mud, but they turned her down. During the evening, a kind individual helped tow her car out, yet she did not return to the vehicle and has not been seen since.
Danielle is 5 feet, 4 inches tall, weighs 135 pounds, and has brown hair and brown eyes. She usually wears glasses and was last seen wearing a black long-sleeve shirt, blue jeans, and light-colored shoes. A limited-time $5,000 reward is available.
Anyone with information on Danielle Lopez is asked to call the New Jersey State Police Missing Persons Unit at (609) 882-2000 ext. 2554 or the Community United Effort Center’s 24-hour hotline at (910) 232-1687.
