Taylor Swift showed her appreciation for her Eras Tour staff in the most generous way possible.
Us Weekly has verified that Swift, 34, distributed $197 million in bonuses to the crew during the last two years. The beneficiaries consisted of a wide range of roles such as truck drivers, caterers, instrument techs, merch team, lighting, sound, production staff, and assistants, among others.
People was the first outlet to break the news.
Swift embarked on her highly anticipated tour in March 2023. Following the conclusion of the North American segment in August of the same year, it was revealed that she had granted her truck drivers a $100,000 bonus. This amounted to a total of $5 million dispersed in bonuses, benefiting approximately 50 drivers on her tour team.
Subsequently, after a well-deserved break, Swift resumed touring and took her performances across the globe, including South America, Asia, Europe, and the U.K. starting from late 2023 up until this summer. In the earlier part of the year, Swift made a return to North America for a few additional shows before heading off to Canada.
The Eras Tour has achieved many milestones, including being named the highest-grossing tour of all time. The New York Times reported earlier this month that the Eras Tour’s ticket sales, a whopping $2 billion, are “double the gross ticket sales of any other concert tour in history.”
In addition to making a huge profit on the show itself, Swift also found success with other ventures. Swift released her Eras Tour concert film after wrapping up the first leg. The movie hit theaters and was later released on Disney+. Swift also dropped her The Tortured Poets Department album before hitting the road for her European leg. Last month, Swift released a new photo book of moments from the shows. After hitting Target shelves for a week, Swift’s Eras Tour book hit nearly 1 million copies sold.
On Sunday, December 8, Swift bid farewell to the Eras Tour after almost two years of being on stage. She performed her final show in Vancouver and thanked her fans for “being a part of the most thrilling chapter of my life to date — my beloved Eras Tour.”
As for what’s next for Swift following the Eras Tour, a source exclusively told Us Weekly earlier this month that the Grammy winner will take a break before beginning to work on another new album. The insider added that Swift is considering returning to tour in 2026.
