Authorities announced that a bicycle linked to a disappeared Florida adolescent has been discovered, leading to a thorough exploration of the adjacent Weedon Island Preserve vicinity.
The 17-year-old, Allister Nasr, vanished on March 1, as indicated in reports by WTSP, which highlighted that the Florida Department of Law Enforcement raised an alarm for a missing child nearly seven days later.
Nasr is describe as 5 feet 9 inches tall with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing blue shorts, a gray sweatshirt, and white shoes.
When he departed from his residence at 10 a.m. on March 1, he supposedly was in possession of a black backpack. However, reports suggest that he may have left this bag at a nearby school campus and traded it for a red one.
St. Petersburg Police said the white beach cruiser bicycle was found at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, police said, in the area of 94th Avenue North and San Martin Blvd NE. The search in the preserve area continued on Thursday after no signs of the boy were found on Wednesday, WTVT said.
“It’s important that we find Allister as soon as possible,” the police department wrote in a statement. “He’s considered an endangered, missing person because evidence collected after his disappearance raised concerns about his personal safety.”
