Mother’s Day, 2002: Jennifer Harris spends the afternoon at her friend Kristy Farr’s house.
At 8:00 p.m., Jennifer mentions she needs to leave, indicating she has other plans. She drives off in her green soft-top Jeep, but she never reaches home that evening. Her family notifies authorities about her disappearance early the following day.
Later that day, Jennifer’s car is discovered abandoned by the roadside near a local music venue. There are no indications of a struggle, and her personal items are not found inside the vehicle. The search progresses for six days until a fisherman along the Red River dials 911 after observing a woman’s unclothed body floating face down in the water. The body is identified as Jennifer. Due to advanced decomposition, the cause of death cannot be determined by the medical examiner, who labels it as a “violent homicide.”
Investigations unveil that Jennifer informed her ex-husband about her pregnancy and claimed he was the father, despite him being in a new relationship. In a surprising turn of events, the only evidence of her pregnancy is absent from her remains. Forensic specialists speculate that her uterus might have been destroyed by fish and turtles, although the reason for its removal remains unknown.
Jennifer Harris’ murder remains unsolved
