- BBC Sort Your Life Out star Mrs Hinch rushed to hospital for emergency operation just weeks after giving birth urges trust in instincts when health concerns arise.
- Mrs Hinch experienced a blood clot in her groin/pelvis/leg area three weeks postpartum and underwent surgery to remove it.
- Despite initial misdiagnosis at one hospital she was correctly diagnosed and treated at another where doctors performed surgery through her leg.
Mrs. Hinch has shared a concerning update with her followers as she has been hospitalized for a blood clot, just three weeks after giving birth to her third child, Vinnie. She took to Instagram to convey a heartfelt message, urging new moms to trust their instincts if something doesn’t feel right.
The cleaning sensation, whose real name is Sophie Hinchliffe, shared her health scare from her hospital bed after undergoing surgery.

She recounted,
Initially, Mrs. Hinch underwent a CT scan that did not detect a blood clot, allowing her to be discharged. However, her condition deteriorated upon returning home as her leg started swelling noticeably. A subsequent scan at a different hospital revealed the presence of a significant blood clot, which necessitated immediate surgical intervention.
she explained.
Upon being re-admitted, the severity of the situation was swiftly recognized by the medical team at the second hospital. The doctors opted to operate and successfully removed the clot from her leg instead of her neck. Mrs. Hinch shared an emotional post on Instagram, accompanying it with a photo of her three boys, expressing her gratitude for the medical intervention.
“Hey everyone! How’s it going? Sorry I haven’t checked in for a bit. But our three little musketeers are doing great—they’re happy, healthy, and thriving… It’s my little love bubble.”
She continued,
“So here I am. Honestly, I’m not sure where to begin with this week, guys. I thought I should share a little update since I share so much here—the good, the bad, and the ugly. Anyway, to sum it up, I had a blood clot in my groin/pelvis/leg area. I haven’t had one since 2018, and then, boom, another one hits me three weeks after giving birth.”
Getting a bit emotional, she said,
“What a year it’s been. I can’t even imagine what others in this hospital are going through, but I’m not complaining—just keeping you all in the loop. They cleared out the blood clot, and I joked that they’ve ‘hoovered’ me out, which is a bit funny, isn’t it?”
Mrs. Hinch kept her signature humor about the situation, noting that she was still feeling the effects of the anesthesia:
“I think I still have a lot of painkillers or anesthetic in my system. I had a wonderful FaceTime chat with the boys, which was amazing. I should be home with my newborn and my little family tomorrow, which is fantastic.”
She urged her followers to stay proactive about their health, saying,
“How crazy is that? It keeps running through my mind—what if I hadn’t gone back? Just trust your instincts, everyone. They’ve told me I can go home tomorrow,”
she shared.
“I can’t wait to hug my boys and pick up Vinnie—I’m seriously starting to miss that newborn scent!”
