This dessert shop not only features 16 unique ice cream flavors and 20 gelato varieties but also provides handcrafted toppings, specialty treats, candies, and more.
Chef Greg McClure explained, “We designed our flavors around the movie characters; for instance, Judy Hops is represented by carrot cake gelato, and Officer Fangmeyer by a blend of chocolate and orange gelato… each dessert was carefully crafted to reflect the personality and taste profile of the characters.”
Other sweet features onboard the Disney Treasure are the suites. News 6 visited the Royal Suite- themed after the movie Aladdin with several easter eggs representing Rajah the Bengal Tiger, Princess Jasmine’s pet. The suite has purple and gold accents with a spa-like bathroom and private verandah with a jacuzzi.
This suite is about 1,700 square feet, has two bedrooms and sleeps six. It also comes with exclusive perks and concierge services.
According to the Disney Cruise Line website, a seven-day cruise in May on the Treasure will run you about $54,000. But if you’re not looking to live like royalty, an Oceanview stateroom will run you about $5,000 for the same cruise.
But the rooms get bigger in the Tomorrow Tower Suite located in one of the ships funnels. This suite is nearly 2,000 square feet of living space and sleeps eight. It’s two stories and even has a private elevator. This suite was inspired by a Disney World theme park.
“Having this suite in the funnel is quite spectacular and an engineering feat. It’s a very futuristic design inspired by EPCOT,” said Director of Hotel Operations Shelley Gold-Witiak.
There is a large chandelier with colorful glass pieces hanging above the living room.
“What I love is that when the sun shines through, it hits the glass panels on the chandelier and creates a kaleidoscope of colors throughout the space,” said Witiak.
It overlooks the upper decks, but the windows have a manual frost-effect feature that can be turned on with a click of a button for privacy.
Along with all the exclusive perks, a seven-day cruise in May in the Tomorrow Tower Suite will run you a little over $60,000 according to the Disney Cruise Line website.
The details put into the Tomorrow Tower Suite is incredible with an ode to Walt Disney’s EPCOT city model with unique artwork and a photo of the model display on the wall. The futuristic feel is very abstract and makes this suite over-the-top with luxurious finishes.
