In Maple Grove, Minnesota, police were present at the funeral service for Brian Thompson, the CEO of UnitedHealthcare. Thompson was shot and killed in a targeted attack in New York City recently.
The funeral, held at the Lord of Life Lutheran Church, saw over a dozen state troopers and around 100 vehicles, including numerous black SUVs, providing security. A drone was spotted flying above the church, and a sniper with a large firearm was positioned on the church’s roof.
Despite the visible security measures, the funeral remained a private affair, with only close associates and family members in attendance. Access to the service reportedly required a security code for entry.
“Brian was an incredibly loving husband, son, brother and friend. Most importantly, Brian was a devoted father to our two sons, and we will miss him for the rest of our lives,” Thompson’s family shared with Fox News Digital in a written statement at the funeral.
