Hamas launches first attack on Israel since ceasefire collapse

Hamas has claimed responsibility for rockets fired at Israel on Thursday.

“The launch represents the resistance’s initial reaction to the zionist entity’s breach of the truce, resulting in the tragic loss of more than 710 individuals in the past three days. This action follows the IDF’s fresh incursion into Beit Lahia earlier today and the inability of mediators and the international community to restrain the IDF’s hostilities,” as detailed by sources.

Reports from hospitals cited by the Associated Press reveal that Israeli strikes have claimed the lives of a minimum of 58 Palestinians across the Gaza Strip during the previous night and into Thursday.

Israel has reinitiated attacks in various parts of Gaza this week, shattering a previously established ceasefire. This breach has purportedly led to the deaths of over 400 Palestinians, predominantly women and children, on Tuesday, as reported by the Gaza health ministry under Hamas’s administration.

Israel’s military indicated that it intercepted a missile fired by Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi rebels early Thursday before it entered Israel’s airspace, the AP reported.

Rep. Jared Moskowitz, D-Fla., said on X on Wednesday, “Hamas could end this war right now if it released the hostages held in Gaza. It could’ve done so months ago, but instead it’s brought devastation by prolonging this conflict. America must lead the world in pressuring Hamas to end this war and bring the hostages home.”
