Fight day is here, as Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez will take on Dmitry Bivol this Saturday night at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

The Mexican will move up to the light-heavyweight division for his first fight of 2022, when he’ll face the undefeated Bivol for his WBA title.

Even though the Russian has a record of 19-0, with 11 of those wins coming by knockout, Alvarez is a different level and most are picking the Mexican to win.

That includes American boxing legend Bernard Hopkins, who believes Alvarez will have his way with Bivol.

“It’ll be mashed potatoes all over the place, another smash event, he’ll smash him,” Hopkins predicted on Fight Hub TV.

“People are really excited to see Canelo, to see whether he stay mentally and physically on top as he has been.”

Even though Bivol is taller and boasts greater reach than the Mexican, Hopkins doesn’t think that will be an issue.

“If Canelo didn’t have the talent and the attributes that he has, yes, but that’s not the case,” he said when asked if Bivol‘s size could be a factor.

“It’s going to be about what Canelo wants do, not what Bivol wants to do.”
