A New Jersey mother was arrested after she forced her child to wear a dog shock collar, leaving marks on the neck, according to prosecutors.
Kimberly Cruz-Feliciano, 30, is facing charges related to endangering the welfare of children, assault, witness tampering, and hindering, according to the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office.
The investigation began on March 17 after a child showed up at Cape May City Elementary School with visible injuries caused by a dog shock collar. Subsequently, the Special Victims Unit of the prosecutor’s office and the Cape May City Police Department collaborated to probe the matter, leading to Cruz-Feliciano’s arrest the next day.

Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffery H. Sutherland emphasized the importance of protecting the most defenseless members of society in a statement, stating that all allegations of child abuse are treated seriously and those found guilty will face legal consequences.
