Incendiary devices located at Tesla dealership, Austin police say

At a Tesla dealership in Austin, Texas, incendiary devices were found on Monday morning, according to authorities. This incident is part of a series of violent acts directed at the electric car manufacturer.

The Austin Police Department stated that the bomb squad successfully removed the devices from the dealership located along U.S. Highway 183 without any issues.

Police did not provide details about the incendiary devices.

Police said the investigation remains open and there is no further information available for release at this time.

Tesla Security has come under scrutiny due to various incidents across the country aimed at the company’s electric vehicles, dealerships, storage facilities, and charging stations. These actions are in protest of Elon Musk, who was chosen by President Donald Trump to head the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which is focused on reducing unnecessary federal expenditures and has resulted in significant federal employee layoffs.

So far, three individuals have been charged in federal cases after using Molotov cocktails to attack Tesla properties around the country. Each faces charges that carry a minimum penalty of five years and up to 20 years in prison.

“The days of committing crimes without consequence have ended,” Attorney General Pamela Bondi said Thursday. “Let this be a warning: if you join this wave of domestic terrorism against Tesla properties, the Department of Justice will put you behind bars.”
