ORLANDO, Fla. – A lawsuit filed against Walt Disney World last week alleges an incident that happened in March 2023 involving a former employee accused of taking up-skirt videos of people over the course of his employment should never have happened and that the company “failed to take appropriate action.”

Jorge Diazvega was arrested on a video voyeurism charge in April 2023 after he was questioned by Orange County deputies over accusations he took up-skirt videos of women at the Star Wars-themed retail store where he worked and told deputies he had over 500 videos of women that he filmed over the course of six years, according to an arrest affidavit.

Diazvega was arrested once again on video voyeurism charges in June 2023 after recording under two women’s dresses at a Publix in Osceola County, according to sheriff’s officials.

The newly-filed lawsuit stems from an incident on March 30 where a 14-year-old girl was recorded by Diazvega at the Star Wars-themed retail shop, according to the lawsuit. The lawsuit, which is also suing Diazvega, states the child realized what was happening and they “began hysterically crying and screaming” before running into a nearby bathroom.

The lawsuit alleges that Diazvega was also accused of recording a female coworker, an incident that had been reported to a supervisor, prior to the March 30 event and that Disney “failed to take appropriate action to prevent the incident from occurring.”

It alleges Disney “never fully investigated” the complains and the company had, “it would have discovered that Jorge Diazvega had a history of video-recording or photographing co-workers and unwitting guests without consent” and that he “posed a danger to the guests and other employees.”

The victim’s family is seeking in excess $50,000 in damages.
