ORLANDO, Fla. – The city of Orlando has issued a Lake Alert for Lake Mann following a sanitary sewer overflow.

The water quality warning stems from an incident that occurred on March 25 at 3206 Orange Center Blvd.

City officials reported that a blockage in the public sanitary line caused approximately 100 gallons of sewage to flow into the stormwater system. Consequently, city crews worked to clear the blockage, successfully removing 300 gallons of sewage and stormwater from the system.

In response to this incident, the city of Orlando issued a precautionary advisory to residents, urging them to refrain from engaging in any water-related activities, such as irrigation, around Lake Mann until further instructions are provided.

City personnel will place warning signs around the lake and will begin routine water sampling to test E. coli levels.

The city stated that once the water quality levels in the area align with the State Water Quality Standards, the advisory would be lifted. Updates regarding this situation can be accessed by contacting the Lake Alert Hotline at 407-246-2220 or visiting the City’s Lake Alert website.

Residents are encouraged to check the City of Orlando’s website or call the Lake Alert Hotline for the latest information regarding Lake Mann.
