Former NFL tight end Orson Charles was arrested after allegedly pulling a gun on two off-duty police officers and threatening to shoot them over a parking spot dispute, according to the Tampa Police Department.

Charles, 31, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and carrying a concealed firearm, two felony offenses in Florida.

The incident occurred Friday in Ybor City around midnight when Charles missed out on a parking spot to another car.

Charles got out of his car with a gun in hand and approached the other vehicle.

After the two law enforcement officers showed Charles their badge, the former NFL tight end allegedly started yelling curse words at them, continuing to threaten them with the gun.

Orson Charles’ lackluster NFL career

The two officers reportedly drove away to diffuse the situation and an off-duty Hillsborough County deputy tracked Charles until police eventually arrested him.

Charles last played in the NFL in 2019 for the Denver Broncos, his seventh team since entering the league in 2012.

He only recorded 14 catches throughout his NFL career for 185 receiving yards and zero touchdowns.

Charles was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the fourth round of the 2012 NFL Draft and played all 16 games of his rookie season.
