THE woman accused of placing a fake 911 call that ended in the death of rapper Young Scooter has been arrested.
Young Scooter, whose real name is Kenneth Edward Rashaad Bailey, tragically passed away on his 39th birthday after sustaining a severe leg injury while trying to escape from law enforcement officials on Friday.
Reports indicate that the rapper succumbed to excessive blood loss resulting from a deep thigh wound he suffered while attempting to leap over a fence while evading officers from the Atlanta Police Department.
Cops responded to the scene after Demetria Spence, 31, called 911 and reported a violent attack.
Spence claimed a naked woman was being dragged inside a home in Atlanta with armed men inside.
She also claimed she heard gunfire and suggested a child was involved in the scene.
However, cops couldn’t confirm any of those reports when they got to the house, according to the APD.
Upon reaching the scene, law enforcement officers were met with a resident who briefly opened the door before shutting it again. Subsequently, the police established a perimeter around the property as detailed by Atlanta Police Homicide Commander Lieutenant Andrew Smith.
After two men ran out the back of the home, Scooter was found hurt and bleeding after jumping at least one fence.
He was taken to the hospital, where he died.
The medical examiner’s office ruled Scooter’s death as accidental, saying it was caused by a “penetrating injury of the right thigh,” according to ABC affiliate WSB-TV.
Cops released audio of Spence’s full 911 call on Monday – and she was arrested and booked into the Fulton County Jail the next day.
Spence is charged with transmitting a false public alarm.
