Erik Ten Hag was anything but pleased that Cristiano Ronaldo left Old Trafford at half-time in Manchester United‘s friendly game against Rayo Vallecano on Sunday.

The Portuguese star has handed in a transfer request in his bid to find a team which participate in the Champions League next season.

Ronaldo didn’t participate in the largest part of the team’s preseason preparations ahead of next season.

“I certainly don’t condone this,” Ten Hag told Viaplay Sport Nederland about the incident.

“This is unacceptable. For everyone. We are a team and you have to stay until the end.”

During the friendly duel against Rayo, the Manchester United coach discussed the team’s pressing tactics with Ronaldo.

The game ended in a 1-1 draw, with Amad Diallo opening the scoring three minutes into the first half and Alvaro Garcia equalising for the LaLiga Santander side in the 57th minute.
