Suspect in fatal Tennessee hit-and-run shared victim's daughter's plea for answers on social media

A fatal hit-and-run suspect in Tennessee allegedly shared social media posts about the victim after the March 31 crash.

Grundy County authorities have pressed charges against Haley Layman, 25, for her involvement in a fatal hit-and-run incident resulting in the death of Bobby Green. Layman is facing accusations of leaving the scene of the accident and tampering with evidence.

Shortly after the incident occurred and prior to her apprehension, Layman took to Facebook where she not only reposted information regarding the case from the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office but also shared a post from Green’s daughter announcing her father’s tragic passing.

Green’s daughter, Clara, implored the online community for assistance in identifying the individual responsible for the hit-and-run. In her post on Facebook, she expressed her suspicions about the intentional nature of the act and urged anyone with information to come forward to either her or the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

An arrest warrant filed in Grundy County and obtained by Fox News Digital alleges that Layman fatally struck a cyclist with her truck on March 31 and then left the scene.

Authorities said Layman, a mom of two, then drove to a neighboring county “for repairs” on her vehicle “in an effort to conceal or tamper with evidence of the crime.”

The 25-year-old suspect also apparently told police she had been drinking, which is “why she left the scene,” authorities wrote.
