Barcelona have taken their foot off the accelerator in the transfer market. The Blaugrana have more signings in the pipeline, but right now their priority is elsewhere.

The players who are already in the squad must be registered so that they can start competing on Matchday 1 against Rayo Vallecano.

The club haven’t forgotten about the other two players they has in the pipeline (Marcos Alonso and Bernardo Silva), but they must prioritise matters.

The most urgent thing is to be able to have the players who are already at the club, who have completed the pre-season and who, of course, are receiving their wages.

They have not come to Barcelona to play friendlies. They have to make a difference in official competitions and they have to do it from day one.

To do that, the club are still putting the pieces together. In theory, between the fourth economic lever and the two salary adjustments they have in hand with Sergio Busquets and Gerard Pique, it should be enough.

The fact is that the date for registration is approaching and the issue is still not resolved. Although the club are calm, it is not surprising that fans are beginning to be nervous about the situation.

They understand that they are on time, in spite of this atmosphere of haste. Between Thursday and Friday there should be news on the matter.

The club hope to announce the registration of all players. Anything less would indicate a major crisis within the Camp Nou.

And the fact is that, as happened last year, if an extreme case were to occur, which is not even contemplated by the club, the players who are not registered once the market is closed, could be released.

Barcelona signings in waiting

Once this situation has been resolved, Barcelona will go for the other two signings they have in mind.

Marcos Alonso has already received the approval of all parties and is only waiting for the registrations to be resolved.

Meanwhile a deal for Bernardo Silva is looking good, but still needs a push from the Catalan giants.
