Tom Brady will not be at Tampa Bay Buccaneers practice for the next few days due to “personal issues to attend to” which according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport are “family matters.”

Such reasons were not disclosed, but this was assured by the head coach of the franchise, Todd Bowles.

Tom Brady takes the field as Buccaneers training camp opens

Why was Brady absent from training camp?

It was the head coach himself who said that the return of the considered best quarterback in history will be before August 20, when the Buccaneers face the Tennessee Titans in a preseason game.

Brady’s absence for the upcoming practice with the Bucs was agreed to by all parties.

The quarterback will not be present for the team’s first preseason game against the Miami Dolphins.

How much will Brady’s absence affect Tampa Bay?

Tom Brady: “I’m not a sports machine”

Despite the fact that he will not be in practice, Bowles commented that he does not believe this will affect Brady and expects him to be fully fit for the season opener.

Tampa Bay’s opening game will be Sept. 11 when they take on the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium.

“This was something we talked about before the start of training camps. We gave that time because I wanted to train and have some chemistry with the teammates; spend two good weeks in training camps,” said the Buccaneers head coach.

Who will take Tom Brady’s place?

“Knowing he wasn’t going to be in the first two games, I didn’t want to take reps away from Blaine (Gabbert) and Kyle (Trask), as well as Ryan Griffin, so we’ll face the next two games well,” Bowles added.

Brady will enter another NFL season at the age of 45. His numbers attest to a great career in the league, being considered the best quarterback of all time.

Brady has won 7 Super Bowls, the most in NFL history. Last season, he led the league in both passing yards and passing touchdowns.
