'The time to act is now': Akron, Cleveland among locations in Northeast Ohio taking part in nationwide 'Hands Off!' protests Saturday

The event ‘Hands Off!’ will take place on Saturday at various times in Akron, Cleveland, Avon Lake, Strongsville, Kent, Ravenna, Cuyahoga Falls, Medina, Oberlin, and other locations.

Saturday is labeled as a “national day of action” for the ‘Hands Off!’ rallies happening across the country, including several spots in Northeast Ohio. Participants will be expressing their disapproval of the recent policies and actions of President Donald Trump and Elon Musk.

One of the “Hands Off!” events was set for Hardesty Park on West Market Street in Akron.

The rally organizers state, “Donald Trump and Elon Musk believe they own this country. The Akron community is fighting back! They are seizing everything they can – our healthcare, data, jobs, services – and challenging the world to intervene. This situation is critical, and the time to make a stand is now.”

“Hands Off!” events were also slated for various times Saturday in Cleveland, Avon Lake, Strongsville, Kent, Ravenna, Cuyahoga Falls, Medina, Oberlin and more. You can see a map of all the “Hands Off!” events with specific details HERE.

Organizers say their message to the world is “that we do not consent to the destruction of our government and our economy for the benefit of Trump and his billionaire allies.”

“Alongside Americans across the country, we are marching, rallying, and protesting to demand a stop the chaos and build an opposition movement against the looting of our country,” organizers say. “A core principle behind all Hands Off! events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.”
