Caroline Wozniacki and her husband, David Lee, are growing their family.
The couple announced on Instagram that they are expecting their third child and are excited to embrace zone defense in their growing family.
Caroline Wozniacki, 34, and her husband David Lee, 41, shared the news with a sweet family photo at the beach. Their kids, Olivia, 3, and James, 2, joined in the announcement by holding up ultrasound images.
Wozniacki and Lee tied the knot in 2019, the same year she announced her retirement from tennis.
In December 2019, Wozniacki reflected on her successful tennis career in a heartfelt Instagram post. She highlighted her achievements, including 30 WTA singles titles, a long stint as a world #1 player, a WTA Finals victory, multiple Olympic appearances, and winning the Australian Open Grand Slam in 2018.
Wozniacki said that she realized “there is a lot more in life” that she wants “to accomplish off the court.” While opening up about her decision, Wozniacki said that she hoped to start a family with her husband.
“Getting married to David was one of those goals and starting a family with him while continuing to travel the world and helping raise awareness about rheumatoid arthritis (project upcoming) are all passions of mine moving forward,” she wrote. “So with that, today I am announcing that I will be retiring from professional tennis after the Australian Open in January. This has nothing to do with my health and this isn’t a goodbye, I look forward to sharing my exciting journey ahead with all of you!”
After welcoming two children with the former NBA player, Wozniacki returned to tennis in 2023.
“Over these past three years away from the game I got to make up for lost time with my family, I became a mother and now have two beautiful children I am so grateful for,” she wrote via X in June of that year. “But I still have goals I want to accomplish. I want to show my kids that you can pursue your dreams no matter your age or role. We decided as a family it’s time. I’m coming back to play and I can’t wait!”
